Pacific International Hotel Management School (PIHMS)

At the Pacific International Hotel Management School (PIHMS), you’ll enjoy world-class hospitality training and a quality lifestyle in a fully operational hotel school, under the guidance of the renowned International Hotel and Tourism Training Institute (IHTTI) of Neuchatel, Switzerland.

Gain your hospitality management undergraduate, bachelor degree or post graduate qualifications while studying in a simulated professional hospitality environment, where you’ll be both a hotel guest and student, learning to operate the various departments of a hotel and the associated business aspects of the hospitality industry. Our courses in hotel management include paid Industry Placement, providing invaluable work experience to prepare you for an exciting and rewarding career.

  • Position are in the area of Food & Beverage Operations
  • Opportunity for placements in New Zealand and overseas
  • Students are placed with assistance of the School’s Industry Placement department.
  • Projected Earnings – $10,000-$12,000

Semester 4 – Industry Placement (Rooms/Front Office)

Semester 5 – IHTTI Swiss Diploma in Hotel Management / PIHMS Advanced Diploma in Hotel Management – accredited by the Australian Hotel Review Panel / PIHMS Diploma of Hotel Management - NZQA Accredited (Level 6)

Entry Criteria 

  • 17 ½ years of age
  • NCEA level 2
  • Completion of year 12 High School Education (Equivalent International Qualifications)
  • IELTS 6.0 academic overall band score
PIHMS Graduates

TaschiTaschi Propert
Taschi Graduated in 2005 with an Bachelor of Applied Hospitality and Tourism Management.

She completed a 1 year Management Traineeship with Four Seasons Hotel and Resorts.

Currently Taschi is Front Office Assistant Manager at the Four Seasons Sydney, and is transferring to the Maldives as Assistant Front Office Manager.

Ben Schumacher
Ben graduated in 2004 with the Bachelor of Applied Hospitality and Tourism Management.

Ben is the Assistant manager at the Hilton Hotel in Auckland.
